Dear Parents/Guardian and Students

My name is Mr. Dontrell Powell. I am a proud product of Halifax County Schools. I attended  Elizabeth City State University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Physical Education.

Health and Physical Education is a valuable, skills-based class where students will develop knowledge, attitudes, and essential skills in various health-related subjects. This will also include mental and emotional health, social health, nutrition, physical fitness, treatment, and injury prevention and safety.

Physical Education combines the best face-to-face instruction with student participation in weekly cardiovascular, aerobic, and muscle toning activities. The class promotes an understanding of the value of physical fitness and aims to motivate students to participate in physical activities throughout their lives.
