The standards and objectives in eighth-grade, North Carolina and United States History will allow students to extend the foundational skills, concepts, processes, and knowledge gained in grades K-5 and prepare students to be college, career, and civic ready. Despite there being a different overall focus for each subsequent course, students will explore the content through the following lenses: inquiry; behavioral sciences; civics and government; economics; geography; and history. As students develop cognitively, these lenses become more focused based on the grade-level content and disciplinary thinking skills.

Ms. April Wade
Hello! I am April Wade and I will be your 8th grade Social Studies Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This will be my third year at Enfield Middle S.T. E. A. M. Academy. I am excited about this school year and being engaged with the students.
I graduated from University of Mount Olive with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Service and a Master's of Teaching from Chowan University.
I live in Nash County with my two children. My son is a sophomore in college and my daughter is in her first year of middle school. I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with my family and friends. I also love sports, especially basketball, football and track & field. I am eager and excited to learn and grow with your students.
