Hello,

I am Shawn Fredericks, A proud graduate of North Carolina State University with a BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I now take the Think and Do motto to Viking Land!. 

With a passion for empowering students to navigate the complexities of economics and personal finance, I am dedicated to preparing seniors for real-world financial decisions. I take a hands-on approach to teaching, incorporating interactive activities and discussions that link economic theory to everyday life, including current events and sports economics. By exploring topics such as labor markets, budgeting, and financial planning, my goal is to help students become informed and responsible individuals ready to thrive in today's economy.

I will also be empowering our next generation of civic leaders in my Civic Literacy class. In our Civics class, I will be preparing students to be leaders in their communities through a deep understanding of our political system and responsible citizenship. We will be delving into concepts such as voting, foreign policy, and more!. 

Beyond the classroom, I am committed to fostering strong relationships among students and encouraging lifelong learning and intellectual curiosity. In my spare time I read comics, manga, and classical novels.
