• The Whole Child Approach

    Overview:

A whole-child approach to education is one that honors the humanity of each teacher and student, and is critical to equitably preparing each student to reach their full potential. This starts by creating environments of belonging and connection for students and adults to engage and thrive. Halifax County Schools embraces the Whole Child Approach to student achievement as a common interest in growing student agency in a low-wealth district. The district is highly vested in the well-being of its school communities. The offices of Whole Child, Curriculum & Instruction, Nutrition, and Student Services work collaboratively to meet the needs of all students.

    1. Physical education and physical activity.
    2. Nutrition environment and services.
